THE FSC DELIVERY CHAIN CERTIFICATE NO. SW-COC-928 was received on April 15, 2003
The Forest Stewardship Council is an independent, international, non-profit and non-governmental organisation which was founded by representatives of environmental and public organisations in 1993, along with forest owners and wood processors from all around the world.
The FSC has elaborated a series of principles and criteria which apply to sustainable forestry. When you purchase wood that has been marked with the FSC sign, you can be sure that the forest from which the timber comes has been managed in an environmentally friendly, socially just and economically advantageous way.
The FSC system issues two kinds of certificates - one for forestry, the other for the delivery chain:
- The forestry certificate confirms that the company manages its forests in accordance with FSC rules.
- The delivery chain certificate confirms that the certified owner delivers products which are fully or partly produced from timber that has come from an FSC-certified forest. It also makes clear that during the entire processing cycle, wood from certified forests is never mixed up with wood from uncertified forests.
The FSC certification system in the area of sustainable forestry is used throughout the world.
The World Wildlife Fund has recognised the FSC trademark as being good for the world of forestry.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL AWARD "A FORESTRY COMPANY IN LATVIA WHICH IS FRIENDLY TO THE ENVIRONMENT" was received on February 4, 2003
